As many as four people succumbed to the disease taking the overall toll to 5,28,923.

There were 2,417 recoveries made taking the number of those recuperated to 4,40,79,485.

While the fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent, the active cases comprise 0.06 per cent of the total infections so far, and the national recovery rate from Covid-19 stands at 98.76 per cent.

The government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Wednesday 89.91 crore people have been vaccinated so far against coronavirus.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,60,806 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 219.41 crore (94.97 cr Second Dose and 21.92 cr Precaution Dose) of Covid-19 vaccine, so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
